This series is designed to equip members of Thaxton Baptist Church to be productive members of God’s kingdom. Our prayer is that this series will equip people to Love God and Love others the way God loves them. John 15:9-17 (paraphrased for understanding and personalization) GOD is glorified, when you bear much fruit and prove to be Jesus’ disciple. As the Father has loved Jesus, so has Jesus loved you. Jesus commands us to “Go, live out His love.” If you keep Jesus’ commandments, you will live out Jesus’ love, just as He kept His Father's commandments and lived out the Father’s love. Jesus wants you to know this so His joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. . . . You did not choose me, but I chose you and set you apart so that you will go and bear fruit and that your fruit should last, and so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He will give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.” This series will equip you to love as God has loved you. According to Jesus a joyful life of love includes dying to self, living obedient to God, and loving others. Let’s make that our collective goal. Let us aim to accept God’s love as He gives it and then trust Him enough that we learn to follow Jesus completely. A disciple is simply in the process of becoming a copy of his master, so let us learn from Jesus how to take up our cross daily, for the purpose of connecting others to God and His love.
